The Queen's Varsity team is known as the Golden Gaels. Decked out in Red, Gold, and Blue, their official fight song is the ever popular 'Oil Thigh'. coming Football

The football team is indeed fairly popular, especially annual games such as Kill McGill and Homecoming. Apparently ythe team is one of the most successful and oldest teams in Canada. They won a few early Grey Cups, and have taken the Vanier Cup three times!

Sadly, however, the other sports on campus are not as popular with spectators (aside from the girls volleyball team, which often packs the stands!). And Queen's boasts more men's and women's teams at the varsity level than any other university in Canada.

Aside from varsity sports, Queen's has a tremendous assortment of intramural sports - everything from inner-tube waterpolo to skydiving to table tennis. If they don't have your sport, chances are there is funding to start it.

The P.E.C.

The Physical Education Centre is a dungeon with gym equipment in it. Some of the weight machines look like antiquated torture devices, although they are lacking rust. That said, if you want to get fit, go here- it’s free with your student card, and serves its purpose- even if there are no windows. Busiest times include early morning and just before dinner after 5:30 classes end. Be prepared for a line up at the elliptical running machines.

There is a light at the end of this tunnel, the new Queen's Center will feature a new and state of the art fitness facility.
