Public Transit in Kingston, Ontario

Public transit sucks anywhere, but it sucks even more in Kingston for some reason.

Other ideas:

Now is the time that I suggest you stop reading this website and spend all your free time making a new bff that owns a car. Yes, you heard right. Beg, plead, buy, screw, whatever make friends with someone with wheels.

Traveling to Kingston: By Bus

Megabus: For budget travelers, Megabus is the way to go. Megabus now operates in Toronto-Kingston-Montreal corridor, and if you check their site frequently, you can often score $1 deals. While, you are only supposed to store one piece of luggage, you can often get away with bringing two. Megabus arrives and departs from the bus terminal [...]

Traveling to Kingston: By Train

Traveling to Kingston via train is my favorite mode of transport. While slightly more expensive than taking the bus, it’s a luxurious, social, and relaxing way to travel.
Via rail has service into Kingston regularly throughout the day. It’s a good idea to get to the station early if you need to pick up your ticket, [...]

Travel Via Rail

Ah the train- apparently the more human way to travel. We’re not entirely sure about that, but we definitely enjoy it. There’s something about the car’s rocking motion that is lulling…
On weekdays, trains to Toronto depart 11 times per day, to Montreal: 5 times per day, and to Ottawa: 5 times per day.
It’s generally a [...]

Coach Canada Bus Service

For bus travel within Quebec and Ontario, Coach Canada is a pretty good, but limited, option. Busses to Toronto depart frequently from the terminal and they don’t make many stops, if any, along the way, making for a nice speedy trip. Fares are not unreasonable (about $50 to Toronto or Montreal for an adult fare).
Coach [...]

Traveling via the The Tricolour Express

The Tricolour Bus service is a dirt-cheap way to get home on the weekend if you’re a Queen’s student- and if you live in Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto.
Round-trip tickets are within the range of $20-30, and can be bought at Destinations in the John Deutsch University Centre on the Queen’s campus. The service is only [...]
