day trips

Kingston has the advantage of being fairly close to lots of great sights, not just the big cities like Toronto and Montreal, but also smaller more unique sights, all easy to get to and cheap to see.

Casino Bus

Go to the Kingston Center and get on the Casino Bus. It departs each morning around 8am (check with GoMcoy Tours beforehand) and the cost is only five bus. What else? Well, when you get to the casino in Hull they not only refund your five bucks, but you profit five, get a free drink, a cheap buffet, AND sometimes a free show. (I caught Joey Didodo the Frank Sinatra impersonator). And voila, you got yourself to Ottawa / Hull and profitted. Kids, you could actually make this into a job .. 5 dollars profit a day is well over 1500 a year. That's like, a trip to Cancun!

Wolfe Island

If you head along King Street, a few blocks past Princess you'll run into the ferry to Wolfe Island. Passage is free and it's a great trip to take rain or shine. It's like a Thousand Island Cruise, but slower, cheaper, and with less sleaze. Once on the island make sure to discover some of the quaint restaurants and shops, chat with the locals, take photos, and even ride a bike out to some of the great empty beaches.

Picton

There are few things as beautiful as the Sandbanks Provincial Park in Picton in the summer. Here you'll find giant sand dunes and golden beaches stretching for miles. They
form two of thee of the three largest freshwater baymouth sandbars in the world, on the shores of Lake Ontario. The water is great for swimming, the beach perfect for a quick tan, and apparently the fishing is good too. Better yet it's a quick drive away.
